Brad Henty • Vocals / Electric Guitar

Brad Henty founded the band Bradford Station in San Francisco in 1990 as a vehicle for his blues songwriting and guitar improvisation. The band quickly gathered attention in the Bay Area blues scene and won the South Bay Blues Awards “Best New Band”. The award show had him opening in a large theatre in San Jose for the likes of Albert Collins, Harvey Mandel, Buddy Miles, Lydia Pense, and a host of Bay Area stars. This wasn’t the first bit of recognition, however, for this  guitarist and singer/songwriter and Charleston, SC native. His other musical lives included almost every genre of American music including fusion-jazz and country music. He has written instrumental music for two ballet companies and played with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. He won the Wrangler-Dodge Country Music contest for New Mexico along with the New Mexico based Three Legged Willie band and went on to play at Opryland and the Acuff Theatre in Nashville. Since returning to Charleston, SC in 1995, Brad has played blues all over the southeast, more recently in concert and festival settings. He has worked with Darius Rucker and The Charleston Symphony Orchestra and played for many years with Juke Joint Johnny. Past releases include Backside Blues (available from the artist and First Light (out of print). The latest release Welcome to the World showcases Henty and company stretching out into Latin and Western styles as well as blues and features Nashville pianist Patience Clements.

Brad now brings his smooth, sophisticated vocals and masterful guitar stylings to the Palmetto Soul stage.
