Playing the Trumpet is Shawn’s passion in life and he is extremely excited to share the stage with such talented musicians.

Born and raised on Long Island New York, Shawn began playing trumpet and piano when he was 8 years old. Shawn attended Nassau Community College, were he had the privilege to study with Murray Karpilovsky, former Principle Trumpet with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He continued his education at the State University of New York, at Cobleskill, were he played lead trumpet in the Jazz and Concerts bands.

His playing career has been very versatile and he has had the opportunity to play music in many different genres. Whether he is playing a moving solo, or as part of the driving horn section, Shawn’s exceptional talent on the trumpet gives Palmetto Soul a powerful brass section that will put a smile on your face and get any crowd on their feet.

Shawn’s trumpet influences include Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, Chet Baker, Clark Terry and Clifford Brown
